It reads well, so you skim the first paragraph, nod, and hit send.
Two days later, someone replies:
“Quick question: where did this number come from?”
You don’t know. And Claude can’t tell you, because nobody ever asked it to check.
Sound familiar?
A Workday survey reported by Quartz found that for every 10 hours of efficiency gained through AI, nearly four hours are lost to fixing its output.
The opportunity is on the other side of that number: a quick, repeatable check before anything leaves your desk, so you catch the mistake before your client does.
There’s a skill built specifically for that.
🔍 What it does
This Self-Review skill (inspired by Prompt Guy) makes Claude grade its own output against the same four questions, every time: completeness, tone, certainty, and specificity.
The certainty check is my favorite. It doesn’t say “double-check the facts.”
It points to the exact claim or number Claude isn’t sure about.
Then it returns a short list: one line per issue, pointing to the exact sentence. No praise, no preamble, no rewrite. You don’t re-read everything hoping to spot a problem. You get a map.
It stops there. Fixes happen only if you ask.
One checklist. Zero fluff.
